
Mumbai, Jan 21: Avaana Capital, an India-based venture capital fund focused on deep tech innovation, today announced the appointment of Vikas Verma as Partner, formalizing his long-standing association with Avaana as Venture Partner and earlier as Investment Director. The firm also announced the elevation of Shruti Srivastava to Partner from her earlier role as Investment Director.
The leadership expansion reflects Avaana’s continued focus on deepening investment expertise and strengthening sectoral and operational capabilities as the fund expands its portfolio, reinstating its position as one of India’s leading deep-tech – focused venture funds.
Vikas Verma brings over two decades of experience across investing, entrepreneurship and operational leadership. He most recently served as a Partner at Sun Asset Management, where he led investments across AI, critical minerals and energy infrastructure, managing a global portfolio of over US$1 billion. He has been associated with Avaana Capital as a Venture Partner and earlier as Investment Director.
Shruti Srivastava has been elevated to the role of Partner from Investment Director. She manages investments at Avaana and brings over 15 years of experience across early-stage investing, private equity and development finance. She has been closely involved in sourcing, evaluating and supporting portfolio companies across the fund’s core sectors.
