San Diego, California July 25: Scripps Laboratories, a leading manufacturer of high-quality proteins, antibodies, and critical reagents for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) assay development, announced a major expansion of its product portfolio through a comprehensive antibody development initiative targeting its expanding line of native and recombinant protein biomarkers. By pairing antibody development directly with in-house native and recombinant antigen production, Scripps Laboratories aims to deliver well characterized, application-ready immunoreagents with consistent lot-to-lot performance.
Scripps will produce highly specific monoclonal antibodies, as well as polyclonal antibodies that undergo immunoaffinity purification using chromatography media coupled with the corresponding recombinant protein antigen. The polyclonal purification strategy will enrich high-affinity, antigen-specific antibody populations while minimizing non-specific reactivity and background signal in immunoassay systems. Antibody pairs will be screened for reactivity to both the native and recombinant forms of the target biomarkers.
The new antibodies are being developed to support a broad range of diagnostic areas, including reproductive biology, anemia and metabolic testing, inflammation, thyroid function, cardiovascular disease, heart failure, cardiac injury, and general biomarker research.
Together with Scripps Laboratories’ industry-leading protein biomarkers, these immunoreagents, will provide the tools IVD manufacturers need to develop sensitive and reliable immunoassays, calibrators, and controls employing either native or recombinant analytes. Scripps expects to release these reagents on a rolling basis and will offer customization options including conjugation, antibody pairing support, and bulk manufacturing.
