Hyderabad, Oct 08: BioAgri-2026 Awards spotlight Women Leaders, Scientists and Innovators in Biological Agriculture at the Bio Agri 2026 summit, the India’s leading conference on Sustainable Biological Agriculture currently underway in Ramoji Film City (RFC).

BioAgri 2026 put spotlight on the missing women in Agri-Business Boardrooms Women are everywhere in agriculture—but are they equally visible in the boardrooms of the agricultural industry?

That question found an unusual spotlight at BioAgri 2026, where three women heading companies in the biological agriculture sector were recognised with the BIPA Bio-ag Women Leadership Excellence Awards 2026.

The awards ceremony recognising excellence across research, science, entrepreneurship, technology, market outreach and corporate leadership in the biological agriculture sector held on Wednesday night at RFC.

A significant highlight of the awards was the recognition of women leaders in the agri-corporate world. While women have always played an important role in agriculture as farmers, cultivators and contributors to rural economies, their presence in senior management and leadership positions within agri-businesses has traditionally been less visible.

The recognition is significant in highlighting the changing face of agriculture. The modern agricultural ecosystem extends beyond farming to include scientific research, biological inputs, technology, manufacturing, marketing and corporate management. Recognising women at senior leadership levels underlines the importance of greater inclusivity and representation in the agri-business ecosystem.

The BIPA Outstanding Doctoral Scientist Research Award 2026 was presented to Dr. Sharanya R and Dr. Ajesh B R, recognising excellence in doctoral research in the field of biological agriculture.

The BIPA Best Biological Product / Technology Innovation Award 2026 was presented to Fertis India Private Limited, recognising innovation in biological products and technology.

The Excellence and Lifetime Commitment Award in Insect Pheromones was presented to Dr. P. Laxminarayana, MD, AgBio Systems Pvt. Ltd., recognising his contribution and long-standing commitment to the field of insect pheromones.

The awards brought together achievements from across the academic, scientific, startup and corporate sectors, with special recognition for doctoral research, distinguished scientific contributions, biological product and technology innovation, market outreach and women’s leadership.

The awards ceremony served not only to honour individual and organisational achievements but also to underline the diverse talent and innovation driving the biological agriculture sector. The recognition of women leaders, alongside scientists, researchers and industry innovators, reflected the growing need for a more inclusive, research-driven and innovation-oriented agricultural ecosystem.
