Bengaluru, Aug 17: Medi Assist Healthcare Services Limited, India’s leading health benefits administrator, today announced the appointment of Gaurav Bhatnagar as Chief TPA Officer. In this role, Gaurav will lead Medi Assist’s TPA business driving operational excellence, leveraging technology to enhance member experience, and deepening partnerships with insurers and hospitals and driving the next phase of growth.
Gaurav brings over 18 years of experience in commercial operations, value creation, and scaling both public and private equity-backed businesses across software, consumer, and services sectors. His career has been defined by a consistent theme: transforming complex, high-volume operations into efficient, customer-centric engines of growth – capabilities directly relevant to the scale and intricacy of health benefits administration in India.
Most recently, Gaurav led sales strategy and revenue operations for Coupang Advertising’s e-commerce advertising business in Seoul, where he redesigned operating models, built advanced analytics capabilities at scale, and delivered sustained double-digit revenue growth and productivity improvements.
Prior to Coupang, he was Senior Vice President in the Portfolio Value Creation team at Permira, a global private equity firm, where he worked with portfolio companies across SaaS, consumer, technology-enabled services, and pharmaceuticals on operational transformation, customer journey improvement, go-to-market strategy, and M&A value creation.
Earlier in his career, he held product and go-to-market leadership roles at Amazon Europe. Several of the products and features he worked on continue to serve customers on the platform today. Gaurav‘s appointment marks a significant moment for Medi Assist bringing together deep operational expertise and a proven technology pedigree to accelerate the company’s next phase of growth and redefine the healthcare experience for millions of members across India.
Gaurav will be based in Bengaluru and report to the CEO.
