The Next Phase Is About Intelligent Ears”: boAt CEO Gaurav Nayyar On AI-Powered Audio

boAt is bringing AI-powered voice interactions to its audio ecosystem, introducing what it calls ‘Intelligent Ears’ through its new boAt CREST AI experience.

Gaurav Nayyar, Chief Executive Officer at boAt / Imagine Marketing, has announced the company’s move to integrate artificial intelligence into its audio products, positioning earbuds as more than just devices for listening to music and calls.

In a LinkedIn post, Nayyar said the company’s next phase is focused on making earbuds capable of understanding, conversing and acting through voice. The initiative, called ‘Intelligent Ears’, has been developed through boAt CREST AI, using Google Gemini and Google Cloud.

The company is initially introducing three AI-led experiences, Ask, Act and Translate.

The Ask feature is designed to let users ask questions and continue conversations naturally through voice. Act enables users to perform everyday tasks using voice while on the move, while Translate offers real-time translation across more than 25 languages.

According to Nayyar, the proposition is built around a screen-free interaction model, allowing consumers to access AI through their earbuds without having to reach for a smartphone or open an application.

“No screens. No scrolling. Just talk,” Nayyar said while describing the experience.

The AI capabilities are being brought to consumers through three boAt products, Airdopes Prime 800 D, Airdopes Prime 701 ANC and Nirvana Ion ANC.

For boAt, the development marks an expansion of its proposition from conventional personal audio hardware towards AI-enabled consumer technology. The company sees the opportunity in integrating AI into products that consumers already use regularly, rather than introducing it as a separate experience.

Nayyar said the objective is to make interaction with AI “as natural as talking,” with voice serving as the primary interface.

The company’s move comes as AI increasingly becomes part of consumer electronics, with audio devices emerging as one of the potential interfaces for hands-free access to AI assistants, translation and everyday tasks.

“This is our first step. We’ll keep learning and making the experience richer,” Nayyar said, signalling further development of boAt’s AI-led audio ecosystem
